OTD Program

Mercer University offers a professional program in occupational therapy, which awards the Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) degree. The OTD Program is offered on the Cecil B. Day Graduate and Professional Campus in Atlanta, Georgia.

This innovative eight-semester OTD Program incorporates didactic, laboratory, fieldwork, and a doctoral capstone experience to prepare entry-level occupational therapists. Built on the occupational therapy profession’s foundation to improve health, the OTD Program integrates client-centered care, clinical reasoning, research, evidence-based practice, leadership, and professionalism through rigorous coursework, fieldwork, and research. This comprehensive approach educates students to excel in practice and pass the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy examination on the first attempt. The curriculum employs a three-tiered structure of rigorous courses to facilitate the achievement of learning outcomes.
