Message from the Director

Rachel LeWelcome to Mercer University’s Master of Athletic Training Program!  We are excited that you are interested in Mercer and our Program.  Students can expect an exceptional educational experience through a 6-semester, 70 credit hour, professional program that will focus on interprofessional and evidence-based practice.  The Program consists of extensive clinical experiences and classroom learning environments to prepare you for providing quality patient care in the field of athletic training.  Students will have an opportunity to learn from preceptors in a variety of clinical settings at Mercer’s Division I athletics and the surrounding community.

Our inaugural class graduated with a Master of Athletic Training in May 2020.  The Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education with an accreditation status of “Active – in good standing” through the 2024-2025 academic year.  The Athletic Training Program is housed in the College of Health Professions, which is a part of the Mercer Health Sciences Center.  Therefore, our students have many opportunities for interprofessional education and interaction.

This is an exciting time in athletic training education.  The appropriate professional degree has recently been established at the master’s level and new accreditation standards reflect the added rigor and other key components of quality healthcare.  We believe our innovative curriculum will allow us to provide our students with the knowledge and clinical skills necessary to be highly skilled healthcare providers.

We are looking for talented, motivated, and energetic students to join us and help build our Athletic Training Program.  If this describes you, then please explore this website to learn more about our Program and contact me with any questions.  I look forward to speaking with you.

Sincerely,

Rachel Le, PhD, LAT, ATC
