Message from the Chair

Welcome to the Department of Clinical Psychology! This is an exciting time for clinical psychology as changes in the healthcare laws have increased support for mental health services. Our program, established in 2012, focuses on preparing students to provide psychological services as part of the integrated healthcare team. We have an accomplished faculty with clinical and research interests and expertise as diverse as the clinical populations we serve.

Our Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) program in clinical psychology prepares practitioners to excel in patient care and scholarship. The program consists of four years of study followed by a one-year internship. We thread interprofessional education and experiences throughout the curriculum learning from, with, and about other healthcare providers in the Mercer physical therapy, physician assistant, public health, pharmacy, and nursing programs.

Our student-centered program is Accredited, On Contingency by the American Psychological Association (APA) Commission on Accreditation. Please contact me with any questions about our PsyD progam. If you are interested in learning more about the application process and admissions requirements, please visit our admissions website.
