Welcome to Mercer University's new Master of Athletic Training Program!  We appreciate your interest in Mercer and our Program.  We will launch our Program in June 2018 when we admit our first class.  Students can expect an exceptional educational experience through a 6-semester, 70 credit hour, professional program that will focus on interprofessional and evidence-based practice.  The Program includes integrated clinical education through a series of five clinical classes.  Students will have an opportunity to learn from preceptors in a variety of clinical settings at Mercer and the surrounding community.

Our inaugural class will graduate with a Master of Athletic Training in May 2020.  We will seek accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education when eligible, which will be during the 2019-2020 academic year.  The Athletic Training Program will be housed in the College of Health Professions, which is a part of the Mercer Health Sciences Center.  Therefore, our students will have many opportunities for interprofessional education and interaction.

This is an exciting time in athletic training education.  The appropriate professional degree has recently been established at the master's level and new accreditation standards are being prepared that will reflect the added rigor and other key components of quality healthcare.  Our Program is designed to meet current accreditation standards with consideration of the newly proposed standards.  We believe the innovative curriculum will allow us to provide our students with the knowledge and clinical skills necessary to be highly skilled healthcare providers.

We are looking for talented, motivated, and energetic students to join us and help build our Athletis Training Program.  If this describes you, then please explore this website to learn more about our Program and contact me with any questions.  I look forward to speaking with you.

Sincerely,
