Dr. Hannah Lee
Dr. Hannah Lee is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Clinical Psychology in the College of Health Professions. She earned a PhD in Counseling Psychology from Georgia State University, MEd in Prevention Science and Practice from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and a BA in International Studies from the University of Florida. She completed a predoctoral internship at Georgia Institute of Technology’s Center for Mental Health Care and Resources, treating anxiety disorders, maladaptive perfectionism, and acculturation concerns among international students, as well as conducting ADHD and substance use evaluations. Dr. Lee completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Emory School of Medicine at Grady Memorial Hospital, conducting diagnostic interviews in community mental health, administering psychological evaluations, and providing evidence-based treatment in inpatient settings and at the Nia Project, an outpatient program for African American women with complex trauma and severe psychiatric needs.
Dr. Lee’s clinical experience spans a wide range of settings, including college mental health, private practice, career counseling, and the Atlanta VA. In addition to direct clinical service, she has provided clinical supervision to doctoral and medical students in psychiatry. Her clinical interests center on community-based participatory approaches to intergenerational trauma, using systems and ecological perspectives to develop evidence-based interventions at both micro and macro levels.
Dr. Lee’s research experiences have included examining cultural humility among therapists working with incarcerated populations, the role of sense of belonging in mediating links between acculturative stress and self-esteem, and protective family factors in the presentation of psychosis in under-resourced communities. She has also led community-based participatory programs for at-risk youth focused on depression and related symptoms and developed psychoeducational and narrative therapy interventions addressing intergenerational trauma in the Korean American community.
Dr. Lee is an active member of the American Psychological Association, the Asian American Psychological Association, and the Korean Psychologist Network.
