Shannon Jackson
Prof. Shannon Jackson is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Physician Assistant Studies and serves as the Academic Director for the Physician Assistant Program. She joined Mercer University PA Program faculty in 2020.
She earned a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from South University in Savannah and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Georgia Southern University. She has been a nationally certified physician assistant for nine years practicing in a variety of clinical roles including family medicine, internal medicine, rheumatology, and telemedicine.
Prof. Jackson has special interest in pre-PA mentorship and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in medicine.
Prof. Jackson is a member of the Georgia Association of Physician Assistants, American Academy of Physician Assistants, Physician Assistant Education Association, and is an inaugural member of Physician Assistants in Virtual Medicine and Telemedicine.
