Dr. Robert G. Baeten
Dr. Robert Baeten is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Physician Assistant Studies. He received his Doctor of Medical Science degree from the University of Lynchburg, Master of Clinical Medical Science degree from Barry University, and Bachelor of Science degrees in Microbiology and Medical Technology from the University of South Florida.
He has nearly 20 years of clinical experience as a Physician Assistant working in urgent care, cardiology, cardiac electrophysiology and cardiac critical care. He continues to work in an intensive care unit in the Atlanta area.
Dr. Baeten entered PA education in 2013 as an adjunct professor for a PA Post Graduate Residency in Advanced Cardiology at Piedmont Heart Institute. His current teaching responsibilities include Point of Care Ultrasound, Clinical Decision Making, and Clinical Medicine.
He is an active member and fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians/CHEST (FCCP). He is also past Director at Large of the Society of Point of Care Ultrasound which is a constituency organization of the American Association of Physician Assistants (AAPA). He is a member of the Georgia Association of Physician Assistants (GAPA), AAPA, Physician Assistant Education Association, Society of Critical Care Medicine, and American College of Cardiology (ACC).
Dr. Baeten has several publications on topics related to point of care ultrasound, cardiology, and critical care. He has lectured, instructed, presented and moderated locally and nationally for GAPA, AAPA, and ACC.
