Dr. Rachel Johnson
Rachel Johnson is assistant professor of athletic training in the Department of Exercise Science in the College of Health Professions. She received her PhD in Kinesiology with a concentration in Biomechanics from the University of Georgia, her MS in Athletic Training from A.T. Still University, and her BS in Athletic Training from Springfield College. She completed a two-year post-doctoral research fellowship at Boise State University and St. Luke’s Health System.
Dr. Johnson’s primary teaching area is athletic training. Her research interests focus on concussion, specifically lower extremity injury risk post-concussion and concussion management in neurodiverse and non-traditional performing artists. Dr. Johnson is a certified athletic trainer and an active member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association.
