Dr. Patricia Callaghan Mullins
Dr. Patricia “Trish” Mullins is the Medical Director and Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Physician Assistant Studies.
She received her AB from Harvard University in English and American Literature and Languages and her MD from the University of Massachusetts Medical School. She completed her residency in Pediatrics at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. She is board certified in Pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP).
After completion of her residency, Dr. Mullins practiced outpatient, primary care pediatrics in Massachusetts before relocating to Georgia. She has been a member of the physician staff at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta since 2006, where her clinical work has focused on caring for children with complex medical needs in the pre-surgical, outpatient setting.
In addition, Dr. Mullins served on the Board of Commissioners of the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) from 2016-2018. Most recently, she completed the Advancing Pediatric Educator Excellence (APEX) course, a selective training program co-sponsored by the American Academy of Pediatrics’ Section on Hospital Medicine and the Academic Pediatric Association.
Dr. Mullins has been teaching as adjunct faculty in the Physician Assistant Program at Mercer University since 2008 when the program began. Her current responsibilities include the pediatrics module during Clinical Medicine III and serving on numerous committees in the PA Program.
