Dr. Nicholas Orton
Dr. Nicholas Orton is Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy and physical therapist in the Mercer Physical Therapy Clinic. He received his Doctor of Physical Therapy from the Medical University of South Carolina and his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Wofford College. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, Board-Certified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist, and is completing a Fellowship in Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy.
He has adjunct faculty experience teaching in Mercer’s Doctor of Physical Therapy Program and the Residency in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy. Dr. Orton has presented on management of low back pain and sympathetic maintained pain, and is currently engaged in research on the use of point of care ultrasound to detect trigger points in individuals with headaches.
