Dr. Lisa Murphey Lundquist

Dr. Lisa Murphey Lundquist is the founding Dean in the College of Health Professions, which was established in 2013.  She served as Dean from 2013-2026.  She currently serves as the Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost for Mercer University.

Dr. Lundquist earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Samford University, completed a postgraduate specialty residency in primary care, and is a board certified pharmacotherapy specialist.  She also completed an Academic Leadership Fellowship with the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP).

Dr. Lundquist joined Mercer University in the College of Pharmacy in 2006 and held various academic roles including Associate Dean for Administration, Interim Chair of the Department of Physician Assistant Studies, and Chair of the Planning Committee for the College of Health Professions.  Prior to Mercer, she served on the faculty at the University of Mississippi and has practiced clinically in Alabama, Mississippi, and Georgia.

Her teaching is focused in leadership and primary care-related cardiovascular and endocrine therapeutics areas.  She has authored or co-authored more than 90 scholarly articles and abstracts in the areas of pedagogy and primary care clinical practice.

She is an active member of AACP, American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP), and Georgia Society of Health-System Pharmacists (GSHP), where she served on the Board of Directors for 11 years.  Dr. Lundquist is an inducted member of Phi Kappa Phi, Omicron Delta Kappa, Order of Omega, Phi Lambda Sigma Pharmacy Leadership Society, and Pi Alpha Physician Assistant Honor Society.

Dr. Lundquist has received several awards, including the Distinguished Young Pharmacist Award (2005), Mercer College of Pharmacy Distinguished Educator Award (2008), Rho Chi Professor of the Year (2011), and GSHP Outstanding Committee Chair of the Year (2008, 2011, 2016, 2018).  She was also part of a clinical team that received the national ASHP Best Practice Award (2003).  In 2025, she was named a Distinguished Fellow of the National Academies of Practice.
