Dr. Heather Webb
Dr. Heather E. Webb is Associate Professor of Kinesiology in the Department of Exercise Science and serves as the Director of the B.S. in Kinesiology Program. She received her PhD in Exercise Physiology from the University of Mississippi, MS in Sport and Exercise Psychology from Southeastern Louisiana University, and a BS in Athletic Training from Iowa State University. She has over 15 years of experience on faculty at the University of New South Wales, Mississippi State University, and Texas A&M University Corpus Christi. Dr. Webb is also a certified athletic trainer.
Dr. Webb’s research interests focus on the psychobiology of health and human performance, specifically, the physiological mechanisms that explain psychological responses during occupational tasks and sporting events and their impact on health. Additionally, she focuses on the impact of various stressors on healing in athletes after injury. Her primary teaching areas are exercise physiology, sports psychology, and psychological aspects of kinesiology. Dr. Webb is an active member of the American College of Sports Medicine and the National Athletic Trainers’ Association.
