Dr. Nicholas Coker

Dr. Nicholas Coker is an Assistant Professor of Kinesiology in the Department of Exercise Science within the College of Health Professions. He received his PhD in Exercise Physiology from the University of Central Florida, MS in Kinesiology from Georgia Southern University, and BS in Kinesiology from Georgia Southern University. His previous experience includes teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses related to biomechanics, measurement and evaluation, and neuromuscular physiology at Springfield College. He also has previously worked as a strength and conditioning coach and data analyst at P4S Golf.

Dr. Coker’s research focuses on motor unit adaptation following exercise-induced muscle damage, aging, and disease. Additionally, he focuses on performance evaluation and chronic load monitoring of athletes. He has published 24 peer-reviewed articles and is an active member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association and the American College of Sports Medicine.
