Dr. Alisha Wright
Dr. Alisha Wright is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Occupational Therapy in the College of Health Professions at Mercer University. She received her Doctor of Occupational Therapy degree from St. Augustine University and her Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy degree from Tuskegee University. She holds a board certification in pediatrics from the American Occupational Therapy Association. She also serves as the Coordinator of Academic Fieldwork.
Dr. Wright has over 20 years of clinical experience in a variety of treatment settings, including pediatrics (school-based, outpatient, and community-based), inpatient rehabilitation, acute care, mental health, skilled nursing, and home health. Her area of clinical expertise is in pediatrics. Dr. Wright’s past teaching responsibilities have included pediatric and adult physical dysfunction, therapeutic interventions, disease and occupation, therapeutic measurements, functional anatomy, neurological rehabilitation, and mental health.
Her research interest lies in the areas of the efficacy of sensory integration techniques, assistive technology, cultural competence, and mental health and wellness. Dr. Wright is an active member of the American Occupational Therapy Association, the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy, the National Black Occupational Therapy Caucus, and the Georgia Alliance of School Occupational and Physical Therapists.
