Bradley E. Lian
Associate Professor of Public Health and Associate Professor of Community Medicine
Dr. Brad Lian is Associate Professor of Practice in the Department of Public Health in the College of Health Professions and Associate Professor in the Department of Community Medicine in the School of Medicine.
Dr. Lian received his Master of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy in Political Science from the University of Alabama, and his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from California State University at Northridge.
He previously taught in the School of Public Health at the University of Alabama, Birmingham in the Department of Health Behavior. He has also served as an Assistant Professor and Research Scientist at the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, in the College of Human Environmental Sciences and the Institute for Social Science Research, respectively.
He teaches in both the graduate and undergraduate programs in the Department of Public Health including Community Health Needs Assessment, Biostatistics, Research Methods, and various courses associated with the Mercer On Mission Honduras and Ecuador.
His research interests include poverty and other social determinants of health, questionnaire development, assessment, health disparities, and adolescent and Hispanic health. Dr. Lian serves as a reviewer for the North American Journal of Psychology, Journal of Adolescence, Journal of Family Issues, and Journal of the Georgia Public Health Association.
